studio U is here to serve the community. it goes without saying that all clients of studio U will be treated with the utmost respect, trust and care. it is imperative that the same be given back to the studio, the equipment, the studio U instructors and fellow clients. mutual respect is fostered and expected here. below are a few guidelines by which studio U operates.
All private/semi-private sessions:
-time is extremely important to us all. please do waste your instructor's time by failing to show up for your appointment. we fully understand, however, that 'life happens' causing a change of plans. if you need to reschedule an appointment please give studio U notice by emailing, calling, stopping by the studio, sending up smoke signals etc. this courtesy allows us to fill your appointment time with someone who may be waiting for a cancellation. if you choose to leave your cancellation to the very last moment, meaning less than 24 hours, you will be charged for your session.
special workshops or classes:
-when designated, you must pay in full if you want to reserve your place in any class. studio U reserves the right to cancel or delay a class due to lack of interest. full refunds will be given if cancelled.
in - house performances / studio showings
- Parents, friends and families are allowed to video and photograph during our studio showing and performances.
- Besides ballet shoes and tights, the studio will provide all costumes and head/hair pieces free of charge.
- There may be additional mandatory rehearsals in preparation for the showings. Also, class time may also be used for rehearsal time.
ballet class attendance:
--Getting to each class is very important to the progress of the individual student and the class as a whole. If steady attendance is a problem, your child may be asked to join another class or may not be allowed to join studio showings. Each child's participation and progress is important, especially when learning choreography, so steady attendance is essential. It is our desire to have every child in the showings.
guest teachers/choreographers:
studio U is so fortunate to be connected to some of the most talented and successful new and upcoming teachers and choreographers acrossed the US and Canada. Periodically, your child will have the opportunity to study with our wonderful guests.
--Masterclasses will be offered and may require a nominal additional cost.
payment, refunds, class changes:
-studio U only accepts cash or check on site please. credit card payments are only accepted thru our website. the studio reserves the right to charge $30 for a bounced check.
-please note that once a client decides to commit to either a semester or a session package, there are no refunds for that purchase. class or session packages are, however, transferable to friends or family members. individual ballet lessons, training and yoga sessions will not expire unless designated. yoga classes purchased for the semester will expire with that semester. 'yoga class cards' expire 3 months after the date of purchase and cannot be replace if lost or stolen. guard them well!
-when necessary, studio U may mail out friendly payment reminder notices. studio U reserves the right to charge a late fee of $50 for each month that payments are late. in extreme cases, class participation will be interrupted if tuition is more than 2 months late.
-studio U reserves the right to cancel or change classtimes or instructors at any time without notice. please check the website 'studio schedule' for holiday / break dates.
-studio U reserves the right to cancel or delay classes or workshop dates due to lack of interest. full refunds will be given for cancellations only.
snow days/cancellation of classes:
--The studio will cancel classes because of inclement weather when necessary. Please watch for VVS High School cancellations; the studio will cancel when the high school cancels classes and / or after school activities. If you are unsure is classes are being held, call the studio before heading out into bad weather. We post our cancellations on channel 10 news as well.
parking and belongings:
-please park only in the APCA parking lot.
-please take of your shoes at the door of APCA to ensure that the facility remain clean and safe for all clients!
-studio U is not responsible for any personal items that are brought in. please leave all personal belongings in the designated locker area while in class.
-be sure to silence your cell phones once inside.
by participation regularly in classes at studio U, you are granting us the right to use photos of your child/self for advertising, marketings and/or wesite purposes, unless otherwise specified.
all studio u choreography is owned by studio U, please DO NOT post our pieces / classes and/or masterclasses on YOUTUBE!
